Privacy Policy

NameCraftly collects very little information directly, since the generators that make up most of the site operate entirely within the visitor's browser. Text typed into a generator, and any name it produces, is never transmitted to a server or stored in a database. Closing a browser tab discards that session's activity completely, as nothing was retained on the server side to begin with.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics runs on every page of this site and is the one exception to that pattern. It records standard metrics such as pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how long a visit lasted. Google sets its own cookies to support this measurement, described further in the Cookie Policy. Data collected through Analytics is processed by Google under its own privacy terms, available on Google's own site, since NameCraftly does not control how Google stores or uses that data once collected. A consent banner lets visitors accept or decline analytics cookies at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer; visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are treated as having declined until they accept.

Contact emails

No account system exists anywhere on this site, so no username, password, or profile information is ever created or stored. When a visitor chooses to email the address listed on the Contact page, the email address and message are used only to respond and are not added to any mailing list or shared with a third party beyond the email provider used to operate that address.

Server logs

Server logs maintained by the hosting provider may record standard technical information, such as IP address and request timestamps, for security and performance purposes. This is common to virtually all web hosting and is not specific to how NameCraftly itself operates.

Fan-made generators

Two generators on this site, the Sith Name Generator and the Warhammer 40k Name Generator, are inspired by existing fictional franchises. No personal data is handled any differently on those pages compared with the rest of the site; this notice concerns trademarks rather than privacy, and is addressed separately on each of the two pages.

Children's privacy

Children under thirteen are not the intended audience for this site, and no data is knowingly collected from visitors in that age group. A parent or guardian with a concern about a child's use of the site can raise it through the Contact page.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised as the site changes, particularly if a new generator or feature begins collecting information not described above. Checking this page occasionally is the only way to stay current with any such change, since no notification system exists to alert past visitors directly.
